Ewing Manor Cultural Center Wedding - Phil & Sarah
Sarah and Phil are one of those couples that we won’t easily forget – one of those couples we wish we could be friends with outside of just their wedding. The two met in college and bonded over shared interests including Pokemon among other things. When we met up for their engagement session, we learned that it was actually Sarah who had proposed to Phil during a Pokemon Go themed scavenger hunt around their apartment. This, combined with their natural chemistry and relaxed personalities, made us really excited for their wedding day, and we were not disappointed.
Sarah opted for loose curls that Phil actually did for her on the morning of the wedding, despite neither of them being very familiar with a curling iron (is that not one of the cutest things you’ve ever heard?). We love the pops of blue in her accessories as well as in their unique rings.
After an adorable first look in Ewing Manor’s beautiful spiral staircase, it was ceremony time. We absolutely love how Sarah chose to walk down the isle – confidently and boldly, but supported by both of her parents who literally had her back as they walked a few steps behind her. The vows were filled with sincere words, touching promises, and a few mentions of their cats (who you can see embodied in their cake topper), but the best part was probably when Sarah managed to Rickroll Phil in the middle of her vows, which had everyone laughing.
The reception was decorated with a blue, literary theme and clusters of the same handmade origami flowers the wedding party used for bouquets and boutonnieres as well as library book favors. After a dress change, the couple shared a choreographed first dance before opening up the floor to guests, which later resulted in the best rendition of Gangnam Style we have ever seen. The couple danced the night away surrounded by their friends and family.
